"Chuck moved to Colorado from Ohio in 1980. He bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee in 1993 and quickly got hooked on backcountry driving. He later joined a 4-wheel-drive club and learned about hard-core wheeling. Riding ATVs and UTVs followed in recent years. He started FunTreks in 1998 with the publication of his first book, Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails. He writes about one new book per year. He has a degree in Visual Communications Design from Ohio State and, today, lives in Monument, CO with his wife "Beverly." They have 2 adult children and four grandchildren."
