Although the Forest Service gave Bronco Flats a "Difficult" rating we feel it is a great trail for mildly modified vehicles. It is most commonly used as a connecting trail to loop back around to Bobcat Meadow Campground and Bronco Peak and Sidewinder trailheads. The trail is commonly tight due to the dense vegetation and winds it's way down from Bronco Peak area. There are a few hills to descend and rocky sections to navigate.

This write-up details the trail as it was run from Bronco Peak/Gunslinger to Skye Valley Road. Pictures, waypoints and other information pertaining to this write-up will reflect running the trail in this direction.

Bronco Peak Junction - This is the access point to Bronco Peak and Gunslinger trails. It is also the starting point for this write-up as we used this trail as a connection to Skye Valley Road after running Bronco Peak. The trail is well marked and easy to find.

Rocky Section - This is the most difficult section of the trail. Going toward Skye Valley Road this section is down hill and therefore easier. Watch for tight rocks.

Small Rocky Stream - This is the last obstacle before you reach Skye Valley Road. The stream can leave the rocks wet and add to the difficulty. With a good line a stock high clearance SUV should be able to navigate the trail with minimal issues.

Skye Valley Road Junction - Skye Valley Road is the main access road for the trail and main route back to Bobcat Meadow Campground or Four Corners.
